Exhibition organised and produced by Diputació de Barcelona and Sant Boi de Llobregat, Torre Balldovina (Santa Coloma de Gramanet) and Vicenç Ros (Martorell) museums. Both the idea and the format of the exhibition were created by Joanjo Esteban Castanera.
It is a proposal destined to explain, in a didactic way and throughout different historic times, the treatment received by those people suffering from mental disorder from the illness concept point of view had in different periods of time.
The main objective of the problem, on stigmatizing and making the perception usually has about mental disorder and those who suffer from it more humane.
In May 2010, the exhibition was on show at Museu de Sant Boi de Llobregat and it had parallel complementary activities such as lectures, scheduled shows, parties, etc. The exhibition was visited by over 3,000 people and it received numerous comments on its values.
In October 2010, the exhibition started its itinerant process and it opened in Santa Coloma de Gramanet. In 2011, after having been shown in Martorell, the show will be exhibited in different towns and villages around Catalonia
The exhibition structure their content in three blocks: The panels, parts and videos. The organization of the exhibition proposed to Imagine taking the acting of the videos that are part of the sample. Was considered to be especially relevant mental health users who, through their work and experience, take presence in the message.
In late December 2009 Imagine initiated the preparation of the first tests and trials. The shooting of the historical sequences were performed between days 25 and January 28, 2010 at various locations and concluded on March 11 with a final session devoted to the filming of a gathering focused on the current perception of the problems and health care mind.
